Absolum is now available for Android and iOS. The highly anticipated action and fantasy game from Dotemu was released this Thursday (November 5), bringing to mobile devices an experience that blends classic combat from games like Golden Axe and Streets of Rage with modern roguelike elements.
The title arrives on mobile devices courtesy of Playdigious, a company known for adapting PC and console games for smartphones, including Dead Cells, Streets of Rage 4, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.
Absolum is a premium game, sold for a one-time payment, with no reliance on subscriptions. To celebrate the launch, the developer is offering a promotional 25% discount in the app stores.
In the Brazilian App Store, the title costs R$ 21.74, instead of the usual R$ 28.99. The launch promotion is expected to last two weeks. On iOS, the game costs R$ 59.90.
Absolum is a beat ’em up with roguelike elements
Developed by Guard Crush Games in collaboration with Supamonks, Absolum was originally released for PC and consoles in October 2025.
The game drew attention for reviving the formula of classic side-scrolling beat ’em ups, while adding character progression, special abilities, and systems that encourage players to replay the stages.
The adventure takes place in the fantasy world of Talamh, a land devastated by magical catastrophes. Taking advantage of the population’s fear, the Sun King Azra establishes an authoritarian regime, persecuting magic users and enslaving sorcerers through his Crimson Order.
It is in this setting that a small group of rebels emerges, willing to confront the king and restore Talamh’s freedom.
As in Golden Axe, players traverse different scenarios facing hordes of enemies, powerful bosses, and fantastic creatures. However, Absolum offers a more elaborate combat system, with dodges, combos, special attacks, and elemental powers.
Four playable characters with different styles
Absolum features four heroes, each with their own abilities and characteristics.
- Galandra: a warrior who wields a gigantic sword and relies on powerful attacks;
- Karl: the last free dwarf of Talamh, specialized in physical confrontations;
- Brome: a young magic prodigy who uses special powers during combat;
- Cider: a mysterious character with unique abilities and fighting style.
At the start of the campaign, players can choose between Galandra and Karl. The other characters are unlocked as the adventure progresses.
One of the game’s main differentiators is its roguelike progression. During each attempt, it is possible to find new abilities, equipment, and upgrades that modify attacks and the strategy used.
Even when the character is defeated, part of the progression can be used to strengthen the group and unlock new possibilities in subsequent runs.
This system makes Absolum more than just a simple game of advancing through stages by defeating enemies. The combination of abilities and equipment also plays a major role in the outcome of battles.
Mobile version supports controllers and cooperative multiplayer
Despite being originally created for PC and consoles, Absolum received several adaptations to work on smartphones.
Playdigious developed a custom interface for Android and iOS, with movement, attack, and ability controls adapted for the touchscreen.
Those who prefer to play using physical accessories will also find native support for Bluetooth controllers and other compatible gamepads.
Another important feature is online cooperative multiplayer for two players. This way, it is possible to face the enemies of Talamh accompanied by a friend, combining attacks and special abilities.
The mobile version also includes the content of the PC edition, including the free Threads of Fate update.
On Android, the game offers Google Play Games achievements, cloud saving, and progress sharing with the edition available through Google Play Games for PC, using the same account.
