No Man’s Sky has finally arrived on smartphones. Hello Games’ popular space exploration title launched for iPhone and iPad this week, bringing nearly the entire PC and console experience to Apple devices.
The official launch took place on October 28, 2026, although the Brazilian App Store listed October 29 as its availability date. The game can be downloaded for free to try it out, but unlocking the full experience costs R$129.90.
One of the biggest highlights is that this is not a simplified mobile edition. According to Hello Games, No Man’s Sky for iOS includes more than 40 major updates released over the past decade, including the recent Cosmos and Forsaken updates.
No Man’s Sky for iOS brings an enormous universe to explore

Originally released in 2016, No Man’s Sky became famous for offering an almost limitless universe, with billions of procedurally generated planets. This means each planet can feature completely different landscapes, creatures, vegetation, and environmental conditions.
Players take on the role of space explorers who can travel freely between star systems, discover unknown planets, collect resources, and build bases.
They can also craft equipment, upgrade spaceships, battle hostile creatures, and fight space pirates.
One of the game’s most impressive features is the ability to fly directly from space to a planet’s surface without encountering loading screens.
Bringing this experience to smartphones required substantial optimization work by Hello Games, since the game’s universe is generated in real time by the device itself.
The mobile version features touch controls and Bluetooth controller support
No Man’s Sky for iPhone and iPad has received an interface redesigned for mobile devices. Movement, exploration, combat, and spaceship flight controls have all been adapted for touchscreens.
The game also supports external controllers, allowing players to use compatible Bluetooth accessories.
On iPad, keyboard and mouse support offers a more PC-like experience.
Another interesting feature is the ability to display the game on a television, letting players enjoy the adventure on a larger screen.
The developer says it has also worked to reduce heat and optimize battery consumption during longer play sessions.
No Man’s Sky takes up less than 4 GB on iPhone
Despite the enormous scale of its universe, No Man’s Sky has surprisingly modest storage requirements.
According to the App Store, the download is approximately 3.8 GB, relatively small for a game of this size.
That is possible because much of the game’s planets and environments are generated procedurally, eliminating the need to store every location directly on the device.
The mobile release also includes the Forsaken update, which introduces new content such as equipment, spaceship components, and activities related to exploring abandoned locations.
Gameplay:
Not every PC feature is available
Although it offers nearly all the content available on PC and consoles, No Man’s Sky for iOS has some limitations.
The biggest is the absence of online multiplayer at launch. For now, the mobile version focuses on solo exploration.
Another restriction involves planetary settlements, a feature that allows players to manage small communities across different planets. This functionality is limited to more powerful devices, such as the iPhone 15 Pro and later models.
Hello Games says it intends to monitor player feedback before considering future improvements and features.
Which iPhones and iPads can run No Man’s Sky?
One piece of good news is that players do not necessarily need one of Apple’s newest phones.
According to Hello Games, No Man’s Sky can run on devices starting with the iPhone 11 and third-generation iPad Air, provided they meet the operating system requirements.
The main requirements are:
- Operating system: iOS 26 or iPadOS 26, or later;
- Processor: Apple A12 Bionic or newer;
- RAM: at least 4 GB;
- Storage: approximately 4 GB of free space;
- Devices: iPhone 11 or newer and compatible iPad models.
Players should check compatibility directly in the App Store, as some older devices did not receive iOS 26.
How to download No Man’s Sky for iOS
No Man’s Sky is available on the Brazilian App Store for iPhone and iPad. The initial download is free and lets users try the beginning of the adventure before deciding whether to purchase.
Unlocking the full game requires a one-time payment of R$129.90. Its more than 40 major updates do not need to be purchased separately.
According to the official store listing, Portuguese is also supported.
You can download No Man’s Sky from the App Store (iOS).
There is currently no official Android version of No Man’s Sky, and Hello Games has not announced concrete plans to bring the game to Google’s operating system.
With No Man’s Sky arriving on iPhone and iPad, Apple devices gain another major game previously available only on PC and consoles, showing how the premium smartphone gaming market continues to evolve.
