Monster Hunter Outlanders is now available on Android and iOS. The new entry in Capcom’s famous franchise launched on Thursday (October 29) and promises a full Monster Hunter experience on smartphones, complete with open-world exploration, battles against giant monsters, and cooperative multiplayer.
Developed by Tencent subsidiary TiMi Studio Group in partnership with Capcom, the game is free to play but offers in-app purchases. In Brazil, it is published by Garena, the company best known for Free Fire.
Unlike Monster Hunter Now, which focuses on augmented reality and shorter sessions, Monster Hunter Outlanders aims to recreate the experience of the franchise’s mainline games, featuring third-person exploration, resource gathering, equipment crafting, and more elaborate combat.
A full Monster Hunter adventure for smartphones

The adventure takes place in Aesoland, a new region filled with different ecosystems, familiar creatures, and exclusive monsters. In addition to exploring the environments, players need to collect materials, craft equipment, and prepare to face increasingly powerful enemies.
The combat system retains some of the franchise’s key features, including different weapon types and fighting styles. Available options include the Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Charge Blade, Heavy Bowgun, and Bow.
Each weapon has its own moves and abilities, allowing players to pick the fighting style best suited to each monster.
Another highlight is the introduction of new monsters, including the powerful Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal. The game also features so-called Radiant Monsters, creatures transformed by Aesoland’s environmental conditions.
Co-op multiplayer and controller support

As in traditional Monster Hunter games, Outlanders lets players team up for cooperative hunts with up to four participants. Those who prefer to play alone can also explore maps and fight monsters alongside AI-controlled companions.
The familiar Palicoes are back, but they now share the spotlight with two new types of companions: Rutaco and Trillan. These creatures accompany players during exploration and help with various activities.
Good news for mobile gamers: Monster Hunter Outlanders launches with Bluetooth and USB controller support. According to the developers, the initial implementation covers the main combat, exploration, and mission controls, with further improvements planned for future updates.
Touchscreen controls have also been adapted to make attacks and movement easier without requiring accessories.
