The dream of many emulation fans has just taken another step toward reality. The X360 Mobile, a new Xbox 360 emulator for Android, was officially released this Saturday (31) and is already available in a public beta version, impressing with the results achieved right from its debut.
Based on the Xenia Canary project, one of the best-known Xbox 360 emulators for PC, the X360 Mobile arrives with the goal of bringing the Microsoft console’s library to high-performance Android smartphones and handhelds.
And the most surprising thing is that it can already run several games considered heavy by mobile emulation standards.
The emulator had been tested in a closed beta with only a few YouTubers, but now the developers have released the app globally. However, it’s worth remembering that this is just a beta test.
Gears of War, Forza Horizon, and Dead Space Already Appear as Playable
According to the developers, over 340 games have been tested so far. Of these, approximately 43% are classified as playable, a very significant number considering the project is still in its early stages.
Among the titles that already show promising results are classics like Gears of War, Forza Horizon, Dead Space 2, as well as several Xbox Live Arcade games.
Videos released by testers show games running on devices equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite, achieving enough performance for full gameplay sessions.
Perhaps the most impressive case is Forza Horizon, which can already be run directly on Android with graphics very close to the original Xbox 360 experience.

Requirements to Play Xbox 360 on Android
As expected for a platform as complex as the Xbox 360, the X360 Mobile requires relatively powerful hardware.
The minimum requirements released by the team include:
- Android 12 or higher
- Snapdragon processor with Vulkan 1.3 support (Snapdragon 860 onwards)
- 6 GB of RAM
- Fast storage (UFS 3.1 recommended)
For a truly satisfactory experience, the recommendation is to use devices equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or higher, along with at least 8 GB of RAM.
The developers themselves warn that devices with Mali GPUs, mid-range processors, or older chips may experience performance issues, graphical glitches, and crashes.

Project Draws Attention for Its Level of Polish
One of the most surprising aspects of the X360 Mobile is the care taken with the interface and the features offered already in this first public version.
The emulator features an automatically organized library, support for Bluetooth and USB controllers, individual profiles for each game, an advanced configuration system, and compatibility with Turnip drivers to extract more performance from modern Snapdragon chips.
Another curious detail is that the project chose to remain closed-source. According to the responsible team, the decision was made to prevent malicious forks, tampered APKs, and fake versions distributed by third parties.
The Future of Emulation on Android
In recent years, the Android emulation scene has evolved at an impressive pace. After the advancement of Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 2, Wii U, and even PlayStation 3 emulators, it’s now the Xbox 360’s turn to start gaining ground on mobile devices.
Although there are still many compatibility issues and many games don’t even start, the public release of X360 Mobile shows that emulation of the Microsoft console has finally begun to become a reality on Android.
For those who own a high-end smartphone or a modern Android handheld, it’s worth following the project’s evolution in the coming months. If the development pace continues to accelerate, the Xbox 360 could become the next major fully playable platform in the palm of your hand.
