Alien Morgue: new game mixes “Papers, Please” with alien … autopsies

A unique new game has just arrived on Android and iOS, drawing attention for its unusual premise. Alien Morgue is an alien pathologist simulator that blends investigation, narrative, and moral decisions, in a style reminiscent of games like Papers, Please.

Developed by the Portuguese studio BurGum, the game was previously released for PC in February and now comes to mobile devices, delivering an experience focused on analysis, deduction, and tough choices.

Investigate alien bodies and discover the cause of death

In Alien Morgue, the player takes on the role of an alien pathologist responsible for examining bodies of different species. The goal is to identify causes of death, analyze organs, and deal with remains following official protocols — or not.

The gameplay revolves around observation and investigation. You can:

  • Analyze physical characteristics of the bodies
  • Consult a database with information about species
  • Perform detailed dissections
  • Extract organs for various purposes

Additionally, the player must also identify the bodies based on age, profession, and biological traits, as well as carry out processes like cleaning and proper disposal.

Tough decisions and constant pressure

During autopsies, the player may find unusual objects inside the bodies, and it’s up to them to decide what to do with these items. Each choice can directly impact the course of the story.

The game also adds an element of pressure: mistakes can be costly. This is because the protagonist needs to earn money for an important personal goal, making every decision even more tense.

Dark story with an immortality theme

The narrative of Alien Morgue is set in a universe where immortality is possible — but only for those who can afford it. After death, people can be stored in cryogenic capsules provided by a corporation, accessible only to the wealthiest.

The story begins with the death of the protagonist’s loved one. To cope with the loss and secure a chance for a future reunion, he accepts a job at the corporation’s own morgue, earning credits to pay for cryopreservation.

Multiple endings and day-based progression

The game features a day-based progression structure, totaling 25 days of gameplay and up to 9 different endings, depending on the decisions made by the player.

This approach encourages multiple playthroughs, as different choices can lead to completely distinct outcomes.

Free trial already available

Alien Morgue can now be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the App Store. The game allows you to try the first 7 days of the main campaign for free before unlocking the rest of the content.

With a unique premise and a dark atmosphere, the title is an interesting option for those who enjoy narrative-driven games and deeper experiences on mobile.
