The mobile RPG The Elder Scrolls: Blades will have its servers shut down on June 30, 2026. The announcement was made by Bethesda Softworks through an in-game message, confirming the end of its journey after about seven years since the first early access tests.
With this, the title officially bids farewell to the mobile scene, marking another significant closure within the franchise.
A Classic RPG Adapted for Mobile

Released globally in 2020, after an early access period that began in 2019, Blades brought the traditional The Elder Scrolls experience to mobile devices, with first-person gameplay focused on exploration and combat.
In the game, players take on the role of a member of the Blades order who returns to their destroyed hometown, with the mission to rebuild it while facing enemies, exploring dungeons, and rescuing survivors.
Store Unlocked Before Shutdown
As part of the shutdown, Bethesda adopted a common measure in these cases: all items in the store now cost just 1 Gem or 1 Sigil.
Furthermore, players are also receiving free resource packs, allowing them to enjoy the remaining content until the definitive server shutdown.
Criticism of Monetization Marked the Game
Despite having gained a loyal player base, The Elder Scrolls: Blades also received criticism over the years, mainly related to its monetization model.
Many players pointed out that the progression and reward system could be more balanced, which ultimately impacted the title’s longevity.
Another frequent request from the community was the inclusion of an offline mode, something that has not been confirmed to date and, by all indications, is unlikely to happen.
Another Game in the Franchise Comes to an End
The closure of Blades marks the second consecutive year that a game in the franchise officially ceases to exist. In 2025, the card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends also had its servers shut down.
Currently, the main mobile bet for the series remains The Elder Scrolls: Castles, which continues to be available to players.
Final Farewell in June
Until June 30, 2026, players will still be able to access The Elder Scrolls: Blades normally and enjoy the final content released by the developer.
After this date, the game will become completely inaccessible, definitively ending its mobile journey.
