The new chapter in the Oceanhorn franchise has finally arrived. Oceanhorn 3: Legend of the Shadow Sea was released this Wednesday on Apple Arcade, becoming available for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.
Developed by studio Cornfox & Bros., the game marks the return of the series with a new great RPG adventure, featuring sea exploration, battles against giant creatures, and a story that further expands the franchise’s universe.
Oceanhorn 3 is offline and offers full support for controllers and/or keyboard and mouse gameplay on iPad and Mac OS.
A New Journey Through the Shadow Sea
In Oceanhorn 3: Legend of the Shadow Sea, players embark on an epic journey across countless islands scattered throughout the mysterious Shadow Sea. The goal is to find a lost god and uncover secrets capable of restoring the kingdom of Arcadia.
The story takes place about a thousand years after the events of Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm. In this new setting, the world is once again on the brink of a great transformation.
The player takes on the role of the Champion of Sol, who must explore dangerous seas while facing a new threat linked to the shadows. During the journey, the protagonist encounters Em, a mysterious figure connected to the Titans, as well as new characters and familiar faces from the series.
Combat, Exploration, and Crafting
Among the new features in the third game is a completely revamped combat system, along with new exploration and crafting mechanics within the franchise’s techno-fantasy universe.
Players will be able to use various weapons against giant enemies, explore distant islands by sailing the ocean, and even glide to reach previously inaccessible locations.
Another new feature is the system called the Stream of Creation, which allows repairing structures and crafting objects during the adventure. Meanwhile, the evolution system allows for character customization through the so-called Skill Path.
The title also introduces the Skill Drawer, a new ability system that adds a strategic layer to battles against enemies and bosses.
Over 20 Hours of Campaign
According to the developers, the main campaign of Oceanhorn 3 features over 20 hours of content, in addition to several side quests that expand the lore of the Shadow Sea and its inhabitants.
Players will also be able to freely swap weapons and equipment during the adventure and explore the world using different perspectives, including a first-person mode.

Oceanhorn 3: Legend of the Shadow Sea is now available in the Apple Arcade catalog, Apple’s subscription service that offers complete games with no ads or microtransactions.
The title can be played on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. So far, there is no confirmation regarding possible versions for Android, PC, or consoles.
With an expansive world, new gameplay systems, and a narrative that continues the saga begun in previous games, the release of Oceanhorn 3 marks one of the biggest titles to arrive on Apple Arcade in 2026.
