Horizon Chase was removed from Google Play, but still on App Store

The racing game Horizon Chase has been removed from the Google Play Store, a situation that has caught fans’ attention in recent days. Although this is not a very recent change — players noticed the game’s absence around 12 days ago — the title remains unavailable on Android’s official app store for now.

Considered one of the best arcade racing games for mobile devices, Horizon Chase is still normally available on the App Store, and can be downloaded by iPhone and iPad users without any changes.

Fans noticed the absence on Reddit. The game has disappeared even for users who had already purchased it on Google Play.

One possible reason for the removal on Android is related to the fact that the studio behind the game was acquired by Epic Games. As a result, speculation has grown that the title may reappear in the near future as a free game on the Epic Games Store for Android, following the company’s strategy to strengthen its own app store on the mobile platform.

For now, there is no official statement explaining the game’s removal from Google Play. It remains to be seen whether Horizon Chase will return to Google’s store or become exclusively part of Epic’s catalog on Android.

Horizon Chase had previously appeared on Google Play Pass, Google’s game subscription service. Now, only iOS offers not just one, but both Horizon Chase games in its catalog.
