The new title is being developed in collaboration between SNK, the original creator of the series, and the developer Lumiwave. The announcement marks a bold step for the franchise, which originally debuted in arcades in 1993 and had versions for Neo Geo, Game Boy, and PlayStation. Now, with Samurai Shodown R, the game universe expands to mobile devices and Web3 platforms.
