PUBG Mobile: Tutorial on how to make the most of the final weeks of the Attack on Titan update

PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s most popular mobile games, has just received one of its most ambitious updates yet. Version 3.8 brings an epic collaboration with Attack on Titan, along with new gameplay mechanics, original modes, and a series of cosmetic items inspired by the hit anime.

New Mode: Steampunk Border

Available on the Erangel, Livik, and Rondo maps, the new Steampunk Border mode features new areas like Eterholm Station, cargo hubs, train platforms, and the imposing Utgard Castle. Players can also board two new types of trains: the Epic Cargo Train, which carries Aether Core Containers, and the Express Train, which moves quickly across the map.

NPCs like the Mechanical Clerk and the Mechanical Vendor offer upgrades and strategic items. For those looking to relax, the mode also includes extra activities like a roller coaster at the Rollercoaster Checkpoint and kebab stands in the Summer Party area — launching July 2.

Attack on Titan Collaboration

The highlight of the update is the collaboration with Attack on Titan. The Utgard Castle is now part of the game’s map, recreating the classic setting from the anime where Titans destroy towers.

By consuming the Titan Serum, players can transform into Pure Titans. Meanwhile, the rare Attack Titan Serum, available only once per match, allows players to take on the form of the Attack Titan, featuring powerful jumps and devastating punches. This item can be found at the Cargo Hub, on the Epic Cargo Train, and via the Lucky Spin.

The best place to find the serum is by summoning the Cargo Train.

Aerial combat with the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear

To enhance the anime immersion, the Omni-Directional Mobility (ODM) Gear has been added, allowing agile movement across the environment using hooks and cables. Players can also perform dual blade attacks, unlocking new melee combat possibilities.

The gear can be found on the ground, in supply crates, or purchased in-game. The aerial mobility and combat style closely resemble gameplay from the former Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom game, which was a hit on iPhone years ago thanks to its smooth gameplay and third-person acrobatics.

Classic character skins from the series

The update also brings a series of cosmetics with skins for iconic characters such as Eren Yeager, Levi Ackerman, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert, along with the Colossal Titan and Eren Titan. Weapons, items, and themed rewards complete the package for fans of the franchise.

Pro tips: Flashzito shares gameplay insights

Content creator Flashzito, a member of the official PUBG MOBILE creator program, shared a few tips to make the most of the update:

“In case you didn’t know, the Titan can strike enemies through windows. Another very interesting tip is that if you transform back from Titan to human mid-jump at the right moment, you can attack enemies from the air with no problem.”

“A cool trick to speed up your gameplay in this update is to use the dual blade and, right when you’re in the air, use the glider, which allows you to switch weapons faster and maneuver better from above.”

Players can find all details about Version 3.8 in the official patch notes and on PUBG MOBILE’s social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube.

The new update will be available until July 6. PUBG MOBILE can be downloaded for free from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
