The mobile phenomenon Garena Free Fire is celebrating its 8th anniversary with one of the biggest commemorative updates in its history. From June 20 to July 14, players around the world can enjoy themed events, free rewards, new game modes, and even a customizable train lobby.
With the theme “Infinity and Celebration”, the new season is inspired by the infinity symbol (∞) and the Möbius strip to convey the idea of endless possibilities within the Free Fire universe, highlighting the game’s commitment to providing dynamic, creative, and community-centered experiences.
Free rewards and the return of classic items
Starting June 20, players will be able to unlock exclusive items by completing in-game missions. The main highlight is the Beyond Infinity Male Set, inspired by train conductors and reflecting the anniversary’s themed style.
Another highly anticipated item is the commemorative Gloo Wall, developed based on a community vote. With a vibrant look and anime-style featuring the character Kelly, the wall will be available from 06/18 at 10:00 AM to 06/20 at 9:59 AM through the special Gloo Wall Legacy mode.
Players can also earn a commemorative emote and an 8th anniversary battle card.
New game modes: Battle for Infinity and updates to Contra Squad
In Battle Royale mode, the traditional drop planes have been replaced by Infinity Trains. These trains travel between six stations on the map and can reappear up to eight times per match. Only one team can board at a time, gaining access to the Infinity Ring, a special combat zone full of advantages.
Among the Infinity Items available in this new mode are:
- Gloo Walls with unlimited use for a limited time
- Resurgence Cards
- Ultimate Chips for increased damage
- Infinity Inhalers to recover advantages in combat
The Contra Squad mode will also receive updates with special rounds aboard the trains:
- Bonus Express: speed, damage, and regeneration boosts
- Weapons Express: new Infinity Weapons
- Gloo Wall Express: fragments for strategic deployment
First customizable train lobby
For the first time, Free Fire will allow players to customize the game lobby with custom stations, themed skins, and even visual effects in the sky and on the ground. A tool with integrated AI will also enable the generation of train designs based on the appearance of the player’s characters.
New collections and commemorative items
The event will bring back classic items, now with the infinity theme. Highlights include:
- Top Criminal (Gold): a reimagined version of the iconic Criminal skins, now with reactive effects and golden glow
- P90 – Golden Corrosion: the first Evo weapon of the P90 type in the game
- Character Sets: new looks with train and anniversary themes
New song and video celebrating the game’s legacy
On June 20, the official 8th anniversary animation will be released, featuring the theme song “Infinity”. The song blends pop rock with cyber elements and will bring memorable moments from Free Fire’s history, including easter eggs like the silhouette of a shadow ninja, possibly hinting at future content.
It’s worth remembering that Free Fire was the most downloaded game in the world in 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2024, according to Sensor Tower data.
